It’s a beautiful reminder of why this area is so special, where crisp mountain scenery and gentle valley living come together perfectly at the start of a new year.
Whether you’re searching for a charming village house, a peaceful countryside retreat, or a ready-to-move-in family home, we’re here to guide you through every step of the journey.

Here’s to new plans, new possibilities, and the chance to make 2026 the year you find your place in the Lecrín Valley.
As 2025 wraps up, it’s the perfect moment to pause and reflect on a remarkable year for the Lecrín Valley. We had the pleasure of helping countless people realize their home and relocation dreams. With the Spanish property market in full motion, our region has clearly been riding the wave. Demand for homes continues to rise, new residents are discovering the charm of our villages, and confidence in the valley is growing faster than ever. What stands out this year is the mix of new residents: both Spanish and international buyers are not only drawn to the beauty of the region for holiday making, but are actively becoming part of village life, reinforcing the unique character that makes the Lecrín Valley so special.
Property Trends
The national property market has seen strong growth, particularly fuelled by international buyers, from digital nomads to families. Alongside a notable number of Dutch buyers, influenced by changes in their home country’s tax system, we are seeing more buyers from Poland, the U.S., and Latin America. Demand exceeds supply, prices are rising, and financing has become more accessible. As a result, buyers are increasingly turning to more affordable areas, including inland Andalusia.
The Housing Market in the Lecrín Valley
The same trends are visible here in the Lecrín Valley. Buyers from Poland, the Netherlands, Belgium, and the U.S., as well as other European countries, are increasing in number. Remarkably though, more than half of our sales this year went to Spanish buyers! Many newcomers come to live here permanently which we greatly value. The arrival of new families and professionals helps keep the villages vibrant, contributing visibly to the vitality and long-term prospects of the region.
House Prices Continue to Climb
The popularity of the Lecrín Valley is reflected in property prices, which rose by 4 to 7 percent this year, depending on the type of home. This increase is expected to continue into 2026. Many homes are sold even before they appear online, so if you’re looking for a property in our beautiful valley, let us know what you’re searching for to be the first to hear about new houses for sale and don’t miss any opportunities.
New Places to Eat & Enjoy
2025 also brought a number of fantastic new dining spots, giving the social life in our villages a visible boost. In Melegís, the fine dining Restaurant Elysium opened and is attracting more and more attention with its refined cuisine and luxurious suites. Elysium is now also featured in the Michelin Guide 2026, an impressive recognition of its quality and ambition. In the same village of Melegis, La Tabernilla del Valle opened its doors, a cozy bar that has become a real gem for the locals of Melegís. In Restábal, Café Bar Azahar, run by 23-year-old Fran, brings new energy and a sunny terrace for both residents and visitors. It’s wonderful to see how many new ventures are starting and succeeding, adding fresh dynamism and vibrant social life throughout the valley.

Something Exciting is in the Pipeline…
Amid all the activity in the valley, we are also busy renovating our own properties. The first project is nearing completion and will be ready for sale next year, a special house in Saleres, with details we’re already proud of.

Finally, a quick note: our Christmas holidays will run from December 22 to January 6, with our last office day on Friday, December 19.
We’ll be recharging our batteries to help you in the new year with fresh energy for your home and relocation dreams. Maybe 2026 will be the year we welcome you to the most beautiful valley in Spain, the Lecrín Valley AKA The Valley of Happiness!
With the holiday season around the corner, we’re celebrating the power of buying local, something that’s part of everyday life here in the beautiful Lecrin Valley.
Today we want to introduce you to Jesús, our neighbour in Restábal and the farmer behind Naranjas y Limones El Valle de Lecrín. After two decades running an adventure-sports company in Granada, COVID inspired him to rethink his priorities. He sold his business, and became an organic citrus farmer so he could spend more time with his family and reconnect with the land.
Now, he harvests incredible oranges, lemons, vegetables, olive oils, jams, honeys and more, all grown with love, sustainability, and deep respect for nature. His company brings fresh, local produce straight from the valley to your home.
We’re proud to support Jesús by including his products in the “Welcome to the Lecrín Valley” packs we give to every new homeowner who buys through us. It’s our way of sharing the authentic flavour of the Valley and supporting the people who make it so special.

Padel is one of the fastest-growing sports in Spain, and nowhere is that more obvious than in the sunny south, between the Sierra Nevada mountains and the Mediterranean coast. In the heart of the beautiful Lecrín Valley, just 30 minutes from Granada, you’ll find not only stunning scenery and charming villages, but also six padel courts; in Pinos del Valle, Dúrcal, Nigüelas (indoor), Murchas, Béznar, and El Padul.
What is Padel?
For the uninitiated, padel is a racket sport that’s often described as a mix between tennis and squash. Played on an enclosed court about a third the size of a tennis court, it’s a social, fast-paced game that’s easy for beginners to pick up and endlessly fun for seasoned players. In Spain, it’s the second most popular sport after football, and its popularity is spreading across Europe and beyond.
One of the most passionate and experienced padel coaches in the region lives in the Lecrin Valley: Danny Wiggers, whose energy is completely contagious.
I met Danny and his wife Hillie for coffee in their lovely B&B Casa del Patio PdV in Pinos del Valle.
Within minutes of chatting, it was easy to see why people are falling in love with this sport here. “The beauty of padel,” Danny told me, “is that anyone can play. It’s so easy to pick up. Unlike tennis, where you might spend months learning just to rally, with padel you can be playing proper games and having a laugh after just one lesson. It is so rewarding to see a group of beginners finish their session grinning from ear to ear.”
What makes Danny stand out is his background. He didn’t just grab a weekend certificate; he completed a serious, year-long professional coaching program back in the Netherlands, complete with internships and ongoing training. It shows in the way he runs his sessions; relaxed, fun, and tailored to everyone’s level. Whether you’re a total beginner or a regular player keen to up your game, Danny makes sure you leave the court better (and happier) than when you arrived.
Unlike the bigger, commercial padel camps you’ll find around Marbella, Danny keeps things personal. His groups never exceed eight people, and many sessions are just two or three players. “It means I can actually give people real attention and tips they’ll remember,” he explained.
Danny’s a player too, playing at clubs around Granada and always keeping up with the latest techniques. And honestly, it’s that mix of knowledge, passion, and genuine enthusiasm for the sport that makes playing with him such a brilliant experience.
If you’re anywhere near the Lecrín Valley, do yourself a favour: book a session with Danny. Even if you’ve never picked up a racket before, you’ll leave the court smiling.
And for travellers who come specifically for padel holidays, there’s plenty to do after your morning session, from hiking through lemon groves, climb Sierra Nevada mountains to swimming in the Mediterranean or paddleboarding on the Beznar reservoir.
Casa del Patio PdV
Together with his partner Hillie Hofma, Danny runs Casa del Patio in Pinos del Valle, literally 10 steps away from the village padel court. Both former PE teachers from the Netherlands, they’ve perfectly combined their love for sport, nature, and hospitality in this charming guesthouse.
Casa del Patio PDV is a warm, welcoming place where everyone feels at home, from solo travelers to sporty couples, friend groups and families. Besides padel lessons, they organize guided hikes, airport transfers, and complete activity packages with accommodation, healthy meals, and outdoor adventures. What makes them unique is that they are pure, offer personal hospitality, a relaxed atmosphere, and their location between mountains, beaches, and Granada city.
