The property

For sale is the Alojamiento El Valle, a fabulous rural holiday complex consisting of five houses, set in a rural location on the outskirts of Durcal, Lecrín Valley, just 20 minutes from Granada and half an hour from the Costa Tropical.

The accommodation

The current owners have chosen the house that is separate from the others as their permanent residence, as it has two entrances; one from the street via the spacious private garage, and one via the garden door from the shared accommodation gardens.

The house comprises of a spacious open plan dining/living area with fireplace, a newly fitted kitchen, equipped with the latest appliances and a large cave room that’s perfect for storing fresh food and wines. It also has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.

The other 4 houses differ in their character and capacity:

1. Casa El Laurel sleeps 6 to 8 people, and offers a twin bedroom and 2 double bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, one with a bathtub and the other one with a shower. There is a lounge with a sofa bed for additional guests and a dining area with a fireplace. The kitchen includes a dishwasher, gas cooker, coffee maker, and microwave. This house has a large private terrace with beautiful views of the valley.

2. Casa El Olivo sleeps 2 to 4 people and offers 1 double bedroom, 1 bathroom with a shower and a lounge with a double sofa bed and a wood burner and dining area, The kitchen integrated in a corner of the living room is equipped with: crockery, cutlery and other kitchen utensils, fridge/freezer, stove, microwave oven, coffee maker, kettle, electric juice squeezer and all the necessary utensils for 4 people. In addition, it has a lovely private terrace with views.

3. Casa El Limonero sleeps 2 to 4 people and has 1 double bedroom, a bathroom with bath, open plan living/dining/kitchen and a private terrace.

4. Casa El Pino Azul also sleeps 2 to 4 people and has an ample private terrace, 1 double bedroom, 1 bathroom with shower, an open plan living/dining room with double sofa bed and a well-equipped open plan kitchen with views to the pool area and the Rio Durcal gorge.

The owners have thought of everything to make this business run smoothly, and as well as the accommodation itself, there is also a welcoming reception area with an office and seating and a bathroom, secure parking within the complex and a laundry room for guests’ use.

The grounds

The shared gardens are beautifully maintained and connected by a network of paths around the various seating areas that allow guests to relax and enjoy the wonderful views across the impressive Río Dúrcal gorge, a saltwater swimming pool (4m x 10m), Finnish sauna and barbecue area. These beautifully arranged grounds and facilities will ensure that guests can enjoy a luxurious and intimate holiday.

As night falls, visitors can stargaze from the purpose-built domed astronomical observatory, complete with computerised telescope, making the most of the absence of light pollution in this pristine setting.

The current owners have created a vegetable garden for their own use and also invite their clients to pick their own organic vegetables and cut fresh herbs if they want to barbecue. There is also a variety of fruits available from the trees in the gardens, including oranges, lemons, mandarins, pomegranate, figs, avocados and even walnuts.

Various outbuildings provide space to practically store all equipment necessary to maintain the accommodation and grounds. 

The location

Alojamiento El Valle is located on the edge of a stunning river gorge in our beautiful Lecrín Valley – conveniently situated almost mid-way between the Costa Tropical and the City of Granada. Views from the complex are spectacular, looking south across to the terraces of almonds, olives and citrus groves and to the east the snow-capped mountains of Sierra Nevada. The town of Dúrcal which offers a full selection of restaurants, bars and shops is less than 2 kilometres away.

Perfect for active holiday makers, there is an abundance of different routes and tracks for walking, mountain biking and horse riding, although due to the stunning and peaceful setting, guests are just as likely to find themselves relaxing in the gardens or by the pool most days.
